Thanks for the email. The reason that we use "film underground" as our title is
because the name "independent film" has been misappropriated in recent years to describe
multi-million dollar films with major studio backing and internationally known stars.
Our site is dedicated to low budget film makers, usually first timers or unknowns. Our
site is not intended to promote and discuss odd or unusual film but to provide a resource
for film makers who operate outside of the mainstream.
The answer to your question "How nonconformist is that?" would be "Not very." We do address
the question "Is Sundance independent?" in our Sundance Report. I don't know whether you
